K.O. gangs In Schools, in collaboration with the Banning Police Activities League, the Banning Unified School District and the G.R.E.A.T. Program held it's first G.R.E.A.T./K.O. Summer Program at Hoffer Elementary School from June 25 to August 17.  Thirty-eight Banning youth participated and graduated from the program.  During the summer program our kids were involved in life skill building activities and community service based projects.  Every Monday, the group would meet at Repplier Park and pick up an average of 60 pounds of trash.  Afterwards, as a reward for the hard work, the group would take a refreshing dip in the pool at Banning's new  aquatic center.  The summer program participants also had several outings which included a trip to the Lake Elsinore Stadium to watch the Storm play baseball, a trip to San Bernardino to watch another exciting game, this time involving the 66'ers.   A special thanks to Dream Makers Limousine Service for providing two limousines, at no cost, to transport our kids to and from the baseball stadium.

The summer program group also had special visits from Home Depot, Banning Police Department E.T.U. (Officer M. Webber), Banning Police Department Dispatch (Dispatcher Jackie Barnes), Banning Police Department Forensic Team (Irma Mota and Bob Rohrback),  All-American Towing and many more.
